Ich muss schon sagen, die Fotografie bietet doch immer wieder neue Möglichkeiten und Ideen, auf die ich auch nicht gekommen wäre. Das Bild ist teilweise HDR und teilweise ein ganz normales Foto. Fragt mich jetzt nicht, wie Phil das zustande gebracht hat, aber es sieht wahnsinnig toll aus – sehr surreal, finde ich, als ob ich in Wahrheit gar nicht vor dem Haus stehen würde. Mehr davon morgen!
I have to admit that photography offers so many new possibilities and ideas again and again, that wouldn’t have come to my mind anyway. This picture is half HDR and half a normal photo. I don’t really know what Phil did exactly to let it look like this, but I really love it: It looks totally amazing, surreal somehow, just as if I don’t really stand in front of this house. More to come tomorrow!
Okay, this was by far the most spontaniously travel booking I ever had. One week before departure we came to know that we will spend one week in Egypt. But the reason of our travel is such a great thing: Do you know the website Holidaycheck? Well, they searched for an outdoor reporter on their facebook page and the ones of you who know Phils blog may guess that he of course immediately sent out his application. And they chose him! So the two of us will fly to Hurghada and of course we will keep you updated. Departure is on my birthday, the 24th of November, so this was a double surprise. Directly after this week, we will fly to Malta, our weekend trip we had planned some weeks ago… I’m really looking forward to my first stay in Egypt and to escaping the cold winter weather for 11 days! :)
Leider, leider habe ich es uni- und arbeitstechnisch gestern nicht nach München zum Verkaufsstart der Versace für H&M Kollektion geschafft, aber eine liebe Freundin hat sich bereiterklärt, mal kurz beim H&M vorbeizuschlappen und ein paar Fotos für mich zu knipsen (danke – du bist die Beste!). Allem Anschein nach waren wohl auch sehr früh Leute da, um sich ein Bändchen abzugreifen, aber von einem großen Ansturm konnte zumindest am späten Vormittag keine Rede sein. Es lag wohl irgendwo zwischen Jimmy Choo (hysterisch schreiende Mädchen) und Lanvin (gähnende Leere). Scheinbar war ich nicht die einzige, der aus der Kollektion kaum etwas bis gar nichts gefallen hat – trifft eben einfach nicht meinen persönlichen Stil. Allerdings ist der Onlineshop ziemlich leergefegt. Wie sieht’s bei euch aus, habt ihr etwas ergattern können? Was habt ihr gekauft? Oder habt ihr euch auch “enthalten”? :)
Unfortunately I have to attend some university courses and my work yesterday so I didn’t have the chance to be in Munich for Versace for H&M, but a dear friend of mine took some photos for me (thanks, you’re the best!). It indeed seemed that some people have been waiting to get a shopping bracelet since 6am or earlier, but all in all no huge rush, at least not late in the morning. Must have been somewhere between Jimmy Choo (hysterical crying girls) and Lanvin (completely deserted). Apparently I was not the only one who disliked most of the things of this collection – just not my style. But I have to admit: Online, quite everything is sold out. Ein paar nette Kleinigkeiten von der letzten Woche habe ich abgelichtet und zusammengestellt. Unter anderem habe ich am Wochenende ein bisschen Deko in der Wohnung verändert: Zum einen gab’s bei einem Ikea-Besuch vor kurzem zwei hübsche Teelichtgläser, die im Licht so schön funkeln (ich kann nicht zu Ikea, ohne dort etwas zu kaufen), zum anderen habe ich zur Abwechslung mal wieder die Pinsel geschwungen und zwei postkartengroße Bilder gemalt. Gemalt ist relativ, eigentlich eher gepanscht :D und am Ende Pailletten in die noch nasse Acrylfarbe gedrückt (hält super!). Passt perfekt zum Rest der dunkelroten Deko im Schlaf-/Arbeitszimmer oben :)
Some nice things from last week that I wanted to show you. I changed some of the decoration in our flat: First, I bought some tea candle glasses at Ikea (I can’t go there without buying something), they look so pretty with the sparkling light! And I also painted to small pictures in the size of a postcard. Well, I don’t really painted – it was more like splashing colors on the paper :D At the end I put some sequins onto the color (sticks very good). I think it fits so nice to our bedroom/workroom upstairs!

Dann habe ich noch ein paar Kleinigkeiten bei H&M geshoppt: Einen riesigen Klunker-Ring, der musste einfach mit, auch wenn die Größe gewöhnungsbedürftig ist – ich trage ja sonst eher kleinere Ringe. Und ich habe endlich die Schluppenbluse gefunden, die seit ewigen Zeiten immer ausverkauft war ;)
I also bought some small things at H&M this weekend: A huge chunky ring I just couldn’t resist (even if I have to get used to the size, because normally I wear smaller rings) and finally I found the blouse I’ve been in search of for such a long time! ;)

Am vergangenen Mittwoch habe ich im Showroom von Ragaller & Antoine nicht nur das dänische Label Gestuz genauer unter die Lupe genommen, sondern auch andere (mir bisher zum Teil unbekannte) Marken kennengelernt. Diese möchte ich euch heute kurz vorstellen – hier sind doch einige interessante Sachen dabei!
When I was at the Ragaller & Antoine Showroom last Wednesday, I didn’t only see the collection of Gestuz, but also learned more about other labels (while I didn’t know anything about some of them). This time I wanted to introduce you to these other labels – I think there are many interesting details about them!
Beginnen wir doch gleich einmal mit Gem Kingdom. Das Label kommt aus den Niederlanden, genauer aus Amsterdam und wird bereits seit 1990 gemeinsam von Johanna Titselaar und Bernard Jongstra betrieben. Die beiden haben scheinbar schon zu Schulzeiten gemeinsam Schmuck entworfen und stecken viel Leidenschaft in ihre Arbeiten. Besonders fasziniert hat mich die Vielseitigkeit: Auf der einen Seite stehen filigrane Ketten, auf der anderen Seite klobige Ringe im Angebot. Der Schmuck, der von den beiden designt wird, hat aber nicht nur die unterschiedlichsten Facetten, sondern wird auch sehr ansprechend präsentiert. Schmuck schön zu präsentieren, ist ja immer etwas schwierig – die Idee mit den bemalten Händen fand ich auf jeden Fall gelungen. Gut zu wissen: Seit 2005 entwirft Gem Kingdom auch die Schmuckkollektion für Diesel.
Okay, so let’s start with Gem Kingdom. This label is from the Netherlands, from Amsterdam, and since 1990 Johanna Titselaar and Bernard Jongstra have designed jewelry together. It seems as they also have worked together since their highschool time and put much passion into their designs. Especially the variety fascinated me – on the one hand, they have those delicate necklaces, on the other hand chunky rings. The whole collection is also presented very nice – I think it is indeed very difficult to choose how to present jewelry – and I liked the idea with the colored hands. Nice to know: Since 2005 Gem Kingdom also creates the jewelry collection for Diesel.
Weiter zum nächsten Label geht es diesmal direkt nach München. Sax-S stellt größtenteils Taschen, aber auch andere kleinere Accessoires her. Die handgefertigten Unikate haben jedoch ihren Preis und auch wenn die Taschen wirklich schön aussehen, ist echtes Phytonleder jetzt nicht so mein Fall… Für ihre Kunden fertigt Sax-S aber auch auf Wunsch an, wobei man alle Materialien dann selbst bestimmen darf.
The next label I’d like to talk about is Sax-S from Munich. They produce mainly bags but also some smaller accessories. Of course the price of these bags is very high since they are handmade and unique pieces, but even if they look pretty nice, I’m not really convinced about using real phython leather. Sax-S also offers to create bags with any material of their customers choice.
Um gleich in München zu bleiben: Das Label Felice hat wieder eher meinen Geschmack getroffen und überzeugt durch mädchenhafte Designs aus Seide. Details wie glitzernde Steinchen, Raffungen und Pailletten ziehen sich durch die gesamte Kollektion. Spielereien wie Augenbinden mit Seidenbändchen und Glitzersteinchen machen optisch und schön präsentiert auch einiges her.
Let’s stay in Munich and have a closer look at another label: It is called Felice and was quite my taste. They have really girly designs made of silk. Most of their designs have some glittering applications or gathers and also some sequins are seen in the whole collection. Somehow sweet were gimmicks like blindfolds with crystals attached which were presented quite nice.
Weiter geht’s auf der modischen Reise nach Italien, jedoch nicht zu Prada und Co.: Das Label namens Parajumpers hat sich auf Funktionskleidung spezialisiert und neben dem sehr präsenten Logo auf den Ärmeln finden sich an fast allen Kleidungsstücken von Karabinerhaken inspirierte Verschlüsse mit knallgelbem Anhänger. Shirts und Lederjacken findet man ebenso im Sortiment. Parajumpers, ein Projekt das aus der Kollaboration zwischen Ape und Designer Massimo Rossetti entstand, legt das Hauptaugenmerk auf die Funktionalität der Kleidung.
(Ich glaube übrigens mittlerweile, dass ich einen Lederjacken-Tick habe – mir gefällt so gut wie jedes Modell, das mir über den Weg läuft, solange es nicht zu mädchenhaft ist und ein bisschen was von biker-chic hat.)
On our fashion trip we will now reach Italy, but not to go to Prada & Co.: The label I’m talking about is named Parajumpers and specialized in outdoor clothing. Besides the very noticable emblem on the sleeves you find a carabiner on every jacket with a yellow tag on it. In their line of goods they also have shirts and leather jackets. Parajumpers is actually a project which resulted from a collaboration with Ape and Massimo Rossetti and their main focus is the functionality of the clothing they offer.
(By the way, I think I’m really into leather jackets at the moment… I like nearly every model I find since it’s not too girly and a little biker-chic.)
Die letzte Station führt uns wieder zurück nach München, zum Label AwareCashmere. Der Name lässt schon erschließen, worum es hier geht: Feine, zum großen Teil auch handgestrickte Mode aus Kaschmir. Fein meine ich dabei wörtlich: Manche Pullover waren so hauchdünn, dass ich beinah Angst hatte, sie würden zwischen meinen Fingern zu Staub zerfallen, wenn ich sie länger in den Händen halte. Das Material lässt sich sicherlich unheimlich gut tragen, es fühlte sich super weich an. Das Fairtrade-Label hat seinen Produktionsstandort in Nepal plaziert, wo nach eigenen Aussagen vor allem Wert darauf gelegt wird, dass es keine Dumpinglöhne, keine ungesunden Farben und Materialien und keine Ausbeutung gibt.
So, this is our last stop: We return to Munich to have a look at AwareCashmere, the name says it all. They sell knitwear made of cashmere (some of them handmade). Some of the pieces are almost razor-thin so I was a little bit feared to destroy them when I hold them in my hands, but the material is really soft. AwareCashmere is a fairtrade label producing in Nepal; according to their own statement they avoid starvation wages, unhealthy materials and colors and exploitation of labor.
As you can see, there were lots of impressions I had to handle and I hope I delivered you a good insight into everything I saw in the showroom. Actually I’m a big showroom fan, well yes, fashion shows are always great experiences, but besides them, I love to have a closer look at all the clothes, to feel the material they are made of and to see every little detail.
