Why do nice things always have an end? Pascal Millet last Saturday was already the last show of Paris Fashion Week for me. But it was a great end: Much glitter, glamour and long, elegant dresses were just my taste and very nice to look at. Millet’s curriculum vitae contains huge names such as Balenciaga, Givenchy, Alexander McQueen, Carven. He has worked for all of them, while he presents mostly cocktail and evening dresses for his own label. But his portfolio also includes some more casual looks. Consistent with his Parisian elegance, all of his creations are produces in France.

Schöne Dinge gehen leider immer einmal zu Ende. So für mich auch die Pariser Fashion Week am vergangenen Samstag: Da ich bereits am Sonntag abreiste, war Pascal Millet für mich schon die letzte Show. Dennoch ein würdiger Abschluss für mich: Viel Glitzer und lange Roben, für meinen Geschmack genau richtig und ein wahrer Augenschmaus. Balenciaga, Givenchy, Alexander McQueen, Carven – all diese Namen darf sich der Designer bereits in seinen Lebenslauf schreiben. Für sein eigenes Label steht größtenteils Cocktail- und Abendmode in seinem Portfolio, in diese Liste schmuggeln sich aber auch ein paar eher Casual-angehauchte Looks. Im Einklang mit dem französisch-eleganten Stil seiner Designs werden Millets Kreationen ausschließlich in Frankreich produziert: So schließt sich der Kreis wieder.

Oh my god, there is still so much stuff I have to show you from Paris – let’s start with some impressions from the huge Capsule fair that took place from September 28th to 30th. I was there early on Friday and spent one or two hours there, as there were many great brands to discover and I loved talking with all the designers and people around. I of course didn’t have the time to see everything, I think you can really spend the whole day in there if you’d like to without getting bored, so I picked some brands I found very special for you in this post. As you will see in the following, I especially concentrated on accessories and jewelry. First of all, the location of Capsule was amazing: They picked the Docks en Seine, where I also visited the Balenciaga and Comme des Garçons exhibitions, with an incredible rooftop terrace and view over the Seine.

Oh weia, ich habe euch ja noch so viel aus Paris zu zeigen. Am besten fange ich mal mit den Impressionen von der Capsule Messe an, die von 28. bis 30. September bei den Docks en Seine stattfand – genau dort, wo ich auch bereits die Ausstellungen über Balenciaga und Comme des Garçons besucht hatte. Die Location ist richtig klasse, vor allem die Dachterrasse mit ihrem genialen Ausblick über die Seine hat es mir angetan. Natürlich hatte ich leider keine Zeit, mich mit jedem einzelnen Label intensiv auseinander zu setzen – dafür kann man gut und gerne mehrere Tage auf der Messe verbringen. Stattdessen habe ich mich auf Accessories und Schmuck konzentriert und stelle euch meine Highlights hier vor.

Chrishabana

Actually this was for me one of the highlights at Capsule. The New York based brand made me fell in love with their statement jewelry and I especially loved the necklaces with Swarowski elemtens. Chris Habana created some pretty colorful, but besides them also some less eyecatching pieces for next Spring/Summer 2013 season. Somehow they managed to stand out with their stand from all the other hundreds of brands and I really couldn’t take my eyes off the collection, since somehow everything was quite my taste – you know, I’m kind of fond of statement jewelry.

Ein definitives Highlight war auf jeden Fall Chrishabana. Aus New York stammend, kreiert dieses Label Statementschmuck, aber auch weniger auffallende Stücke. Mir persönlich haben es vor allem die großen Ketten mit Swarowski Steinen angetan. Chris Habana designte allgemein sehr auffällige, aber daneben auch weniger ins Auge stechende Teile für den nächsten Sommer. Obwohl wirklich sehr viele Brands auf der Capsule waren, hat es der Designer dennoch geschafft, mit seinem Stand aus der Masse herauszustechen und ich konnte mich kaum von den tollen Statementstücken losreißen.

Daydream Nation

Another brand you should really have an eye on is Daydream Nation. Based in Hong Kong, the designers Kay Wong and Jing Wong create accessories and clothing. The next summer collection has really a tough touch of bright colors, but besides some cheery clothes they had some amazing accessories: Neon jewelry, a cute cloud-shaped bag and of course – the shoes. Oh my. I wish I’ve had one of these pairs to wear for Paris Fashion Week, since they look really comfortable but so extraordinary at the same time!

Einen anderes Label, das ihr auf jeden Fall im Auge behalten solltet, ist Daydream Nation. Mit ihrer Basis in Hong Kong entwerfen Kay Wong und Jing Wong Accessoires und Kleidung. Dabei sind die Stücke für den nächsten Sommer 2013 hell und kunterbunt: Neonfarbene Ketten reihen sich neben knalligen Prints ein, eine süße Tasche in Form einer Wolke baumelt fröhlich von einer Kleiderpuppe und überhaupt ist die ganze Kollektion von guter Laune geprägt. Die Schuhe, oh ja. Die haben es mir besonders angetan: Ich hätte am liebsten gleich mehrere Paare davon für die Fashion Week mitgenommen, da sie so bequem und einzigartig zugleich aussahen.

Fleamadonna

Fleamadonna, a brand from South Korea created 2007 in Seoul. Jei Kim made her label grow since then, focusing on clothes with but I was also amazed by her jewelry. As well on her clothes as on the accessories, you find two main themes: Flowers and braids, which means prints including braid pattern, but also cuffs with pastel color palettes.

Gegründet wurde Fleamadonna 2007 in Seoul, Südkorea. Jei Kim hat es geschafft, ihr Label seither stetig wachsen zu lassen, und legt den Fokus vor allem auf Kleidung, aber ebenso begeistert war ich von ihren Schmuck-Entwürfen. Sowohl auf den Kleidern als auch auf den Accessoires konkurrieren vor allem zwei große Themen miteinander: Blumen und Flechten. so lässt sich zum Beispiel ein Zopf-Print auf Blusen, aber auch ein geflochtenes Detail auf Armreifen wiederfinden, wobei die ganze Palette stark auf Pastellfarben ausgerichtet ist.

Kzeniya

Kzeniya is a London based brand for bags and accessories, founded in 2010 by Kzeniya Oudenot. All the designs are handcrafted in London, while the designer focuses on leather bags. The items for Spring/Summer 2013 are embellished with edgy laser engraved perspex details, while layering these perspex pieces in combination with asymmetric shapes makes the collection very special and gives them a unique look.

Kzeniya ist eine in London ansässige Marke für Taschen und Accessoires. Gegründet in 2010 von Kzeniya Oudenot, werden alle Teile der Brand in London entworfen und hergestellt. Die Designerin legt den Fokus generell auf Ledertaschen, wobei sie ihrer Kollektion mit kantigen, lasergravierten Details aus Plexiglas und den asymmetrischen Formen einen wirklich einmaligen Touch verleiht.

Reece Hudson

Another accessories brand I discovered at Capsule is Reece Hudson. Based in New York, all the handbags of the 2009 founded handbag collection are made in Italy. The brand really takes care of high quality materials, which is the reason for them to produce everything in Italy. You will mainly find eyecatching statement pieces such as heavy but small metal clutches, some are made of different materials like neon ones in plastic, some embellished with sequins and other ones with lace, and also bigger, flat leather clutches made of watersnake skin or ponyhair.

Noch ein weiteres Accessoire-Label, das ich auf der Capsule entdeckt habe, möchte ich euch vorstellen: Reece Hudson. Während das Label aus New York stammt, werden alle Taschen in Italien produziert, da sehr viel Wert auf Qualitätsware gelegt wird. Die Materialien werden sorgfältig ausgewählt, sodass sich eine wahre Vielfalt an verschiedenen Designs auftut: Vor allem finden sich herausstechende Statement Stücke wie zum Beispiel Clutches aus Metall, andere aus Kunststoff in Neonfarben oder bestückt mit Spitze oder Pailletten und wiederum andere, größere Taschen aus Leder sind zum Beispiel aus Schlangenleder oder Ponyhaar.
